Bid For A Good Cause
If you are looking for an excellent lightweight crit racer, are starting off in your cycling journey or maybe just need a really awesome Father’s Day gift for the #1 Dad, look no further! This bike can check all the boxes. You may even gain a few extra watts riding the same model bike the one and only Lance Armstrong used for all seven of his Tour de France victories. This 2008 Trek TCT 5000 was lovingly rebuilt from a donated frame and parts by John Walters and has carbon components from the stem to seat post. At 58 cm, the frame is ideal for a rider height in the range of 6’-0” to 6’-3” and an inseam of 32” to 34”.
Not so handy in the bike maintenance department? Not to worry! The winner of this auction item will also receive a very special deal of ONE YEAR of free tune-ups from the great John Walters for this bike.
100% of the winning auction price will be given to club member Juan Rodriguez to help his family in these trying times cover the funeral costs of his father’s recent passing. Please help a club member in need by placing a bid.
Special thanks to those who made this possible: Tad Smith for the frame; Bill Thomas for the bar tape, rim tape, seat post, cassette, and pedals; and John Walters for the tires, tubes, build, and 1 year of future maintenance.
Payment and pick up details will be coordinated with the winning bidder.
